User interface design for a personal finance app
This mobile app project focused on creating a simple, intuitive interface for a personal finance tool aimed at young professionals. The goal was to help users manage budgets and track expenses without overwhelm or visual clutter.
The challenge was to balance clean aesthetics with high functionality. I developed a minimalist interface using a soft, neutral base with pops of colour to highlight key actions and data points. Navigation was kept deliberately simple, with clear icons and logical grouping of features like income tracking, budgeting goals, and category breakdowns.
Designing for daily use meant prioritising readability, thumb-friendly interactions, and smooth transitions. I created screen layouts for onboarding, dashboard views, and analytics — each designed to reduce friction and increase user confidence.
The result was a cohesive, mobile-first experience that felt calm and capable — giving users control over their finances without the usual overwhelm.
